CNES general information • New organization running since 01/01/2004 • Including reorg for normalisation activities • No major impact on CCSDS activities • Remaining to be addressed resources allocation between CCSDS and ECSS • France position on SC13-SC14 merging (under BNAE responsibility) is anounced not earlier than in sept-oct 2004 • New CNES representative at CMC from Fall 2004 : Jean Marc Soula (also CNES representative at IOAG and TC20/SC13 (depending on decision for SC13-SC14 merging))

CNES Resources on CCSDS • Potential involved • CNES manpower involved in the last 6 months was around 3 man year • Present participation covers all areas except Spacecraft On Board Interfaces Services (SOIS) • This should be kept (level and distribution) for the next coming months • depending on working plan presented by CESG and AD’s • depending on the CNES technical policy under consolidation

  5. 2. Implementations (1/2) Spacecraft • New project : Jason2 • All CNES satellites under development are CCSDS compliant (at least partially) • Recapitulation of future satellites • Proteus family : Calipso, Corot, Smos, Jason2 • Myriades family : Demeter, Parasol • Dual satellites : Pléïades

Implementations (2/2) Communications • Migration of data transmission over IP completed mid 2004(ground stations and control centers) Ground Stations • SLE transfer services on the User side for Pleiades project. • SLE gateway on Provider side for SLE transfer services with CNES multimissions facilities (end2004). • SLE transfer services at ground stations level under study for a later phase (2005). • Studies on a global harmonization of CNES ground segments, from multimission thru product lines for a progressive implementation in the longer term (2007 – 2010).

Identified issues • Interfaces between working groups and/or area • who is in charge of the related coordination : WG, AD, SEA ? • Question mark on having SpaceOps and CCSDS meetings in adjacent time frames. CNES observations are : • What was the impact on CCSDS participation? Our DAD report less people in CCSDS meetings • Report from the teams not fully available for CMC • /  Less travel / long duration (CCSDS meetings+SpaceOps)

  8. Conclusions • CNES is ready to welcome and to host CCSDS Fall 2004 meetings in Toulouse • Jointly with IOAG n° 7 once confirmed
