Educational background • 32 years of teaching experience 6-12th with some college • I have taught all sciences • BS in Ed. Northwest MO State Univ. 1976 majoring in Chemistry • MS in Curriculum CMSU 1999 • 110 hours of college science • Respiratory therapist at Saint Luke’s hospital in the summers • I have taught 4 years in South Korea in mission schools • Coaching track and soccer • Medical mission trips Cambodia , Peru and Chile

A student must: Be prepared to be engaged each day Expect to have homework nearly every evening (about 20 minutes) Late work is ½ credit and is expected to be done Seek help before, during, or after school Be his/her own advocate Students may retake any quiz or test to raise their grade. Extra credit is very rarely given.

AS Chemistry AS Chemistry is a college preparatory class It is taught on the 11th grade unweighted class level There is an expectation of about 20 minutes of outside of the class (homework) work each day Students must have good ability in Algebra skills. (minumum grade B-) The level of hardness is like Geometry It is for students who are pursuing a science, medical or technical field of work 1 ½ weight on grade point average 6/9/2014

Chemistry 1 Chemistry is a college preparatory class It is taught on the 11th grade unweighted class level There is an expectation of about 20 minutes of outside of the class (homework) work each day Students must have good ability in Algebra skills. (minumum grade C-) (or Algebra/Geometry III) The level of hardness is like Geometry It is for students who are pursuing a science, medical or technical field of work or would like to raise their ACT scores 6/9/2014

IB chemistry • 12th grade IB Chemistry HL 12 is the second half of a two year program • topics include oxidation-reduction, HL periodicity, organic chemistry, human biochemistry and medicines. • This is a college level class, which offers an additional 1.00 grade points per semester if both the 11th and 12th grade course and IB exam are completed

Physics Physics is a college preparatory class It is taught on the 11th grade 1.5 weighted class level There is an expectation of about 20 minutes of outside of the class (homework) work each day Students must have good ability in Algebra skills. The level of hardness is like Algebra 2 It is for students who are pursuing a science, medical or technical field of work or would like to raise their ACT scores 6/9/2014
Classroom Policies Mr. Gray’s class expectations Class rules A tardy is when you are not in your when the bell starts ringing No communication without permission No leaving seats without permission Do not touch or use anything in the room that does not belong to you without permission No food or drinks are discouraged in the classroom (water in a clear container is acceptable) Leave electronic devices (anything with headphones, cell phones, etc.) in your locker or book bag turned off Be courteous to those around you (the golden rule) Bring notebook with paper, pencil or pen (only blue or black ink), and your textbook to class. You will need a scientific calculator and a red pen on most days. All school rules will be enforced. You should keep a notebook. Please put everything you have done in class in it. This is the first page in your notebook. 6/9/2014
