  8. Yellow Zone Interventions • Group Counseling • AIM High (drop out prevention curriculum) • School Success (focus on organization, study skills) • Peacekeepers (focus on violence prevention) • Anger Management • Social Skills

  9. Yellow Zone Interventions • Many students in the Yellow Zone also participate in individual counseling with Guidance, are in Options, and participate in the Staff Mentoring program, particularly those that were previously in the Red Zone.

  10. By the Numbers… • Of the 36 students in the Yellow Zone for the 2008-2009 school year, 17 moved to the Green Zone for the 2009-2010 school year. • 21 of the 36 made improvements from the previous school year.

  11. Other Intervention Information • We do not remove students from intervention once they move from the Red or Yellow Zones into the Green Zone, though we may lessen the frequency of those interventions. • When a Red/Yellow Zone Student moves into the Green Zone we continue to reinforce the positive behavior with “Good News Home” cards, Bo Bucks, positive phone calls home to parents as well as incentive rewards.

  12. Green Zone “Interventions” • Teachers modeling the expected behaviors in the beginning of the school year during Seminar class based on the Area Expectation Matrix • Area Expectation Matrix reviewed and modeled throughout the school year in all classes • Manor Motto Lessons • Six lessons, which include short video clips of students following the Manor Motto of respect, responsibility and cooperation (examples and non-examples) along with student activities • Conflict Management Lessons • Approximately 16 lessons throughout the school year that focus on violence prevention and conflict management for all students

  13. Incentives • Bo Bucks for all students with weekly drawings and monthly rewards for all who earn them • Green Zone field trips at the end of each marking period • All students have the opportunity to earn Green Zone trips each marking period (we re-set the clock, so to speak).
