Purpose of the Exposition • The exposition provides the audience with important information about who the characters are. • The exposition also lets the audience know where things are happening, and what the world is like for the characters. • The exposition sets the mood that the characters start out in.
Components of the Exposition • Short summary by narrator • Introduction of character names • Introduction of character relationships • Introduction of character motivations • Introduction of the conflict (All done through dialogue between characters)
