  2. Vincent was born in Groot Zundert, Holland on March 30, 1853.

  3. Vincent had a brother and three sisters.

  4. At age sixteen Vincent worked with his uncle in art galleries.

  5. He lost his job and studied to be a preacher.

  6. His father died when Vincent was twenty-eight. His mother blamed Vincent for his father’s death because Vincent would always fight with his father and caused him lots of stress.

  7. Right after his father died he started to paint so he could put what he was feeling at the time into his art work.

  8. When Vincent painted he used a variety of colors and materials because he painted many different styles of art.

  9. He suffered from a mental problem and cut part of his ear off and shot himself. He died two days later on July 29,1890.

  10. He inspired many other artists, and he also inspired me to paint.

  11. Look at the different textures he used in his paintings.

  12. He used very exquisite colors when he painted.

  13. This is one of his very famous works of art

  14. This is his most famous painting named “Starry Night.”
