Desired Position I am currently seeking a position as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a in a cutting edge health care facility that enables me to utilize and enhance my nursing skills, with the opportunity to progress within the nursing profession. Health promotion and risk reduction on the individual, family and community level are my top priority, with an emphasis on client, family and nursing education as well as evidence based research.

Five Year Goal Statement • To provide holistic care in an institution in which collaboration between physicians and nurse practitioners is encouraged and valued. • To be instrumental in the development of health education programs targeted to the at risk populations such as the uninsured and underserved within the community. • To seek out resources within the community which provide low to no cost educational and support groups for at risk populations. • To work with local, state and national level to reduce present and future barriers to the access of quality care for underserved populations. • To work to ensure that families within the community are educated concerning the importance of health maintenance examinations throughout the lifespan and are encouraged to participate in free screening, immunization, and wellness clinics and fairs.

Five Year Goal Statement • To work to ensure that primary screening programs such as mammography and colorectal examination are available to the community and are obtained at the recommended intervals. • To target and educate the community concerning modifiable risk factors for disease, such as diet, physical activity and stress reduction and encourage the importance of lifestyle change. • To support ongoing research efforts and to contribute to evidence based research to provide patients with alternatives to standard treatments at lower cost. • To continue to fortify my solid educational basis with ongoing workshops related to issues in primary care. • To petition and support Nurse Practitioners at the local, state, and national level.
