  1. A RESURRECTION CENTERED FAITH “…He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory” (1 Tim. 3:16).

  2. Such Fantastic Claims • May be true, Maybe not. • “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58). • “I lay my life down – I take it up again” (John 10:18). • Now He’s dead. Now we’ll see. • Romans 1:4

  3. The Resurrection Day • The most important day – not birth, not death, but resurrection. • “…that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘You are My Son; Today I have begotten You’” (Acts 13:33).

  4. I Cor. 15:12-19 • “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain” (v. 14). • “Vain” – empty, hollow, devoid of reality. • “Our preaching is w/o context if Christ did not rise. • THE central thought of all apostolic preaching.

  5. Look At The Verses • Acts 1:22 – apostles were witnesses. • 2:22-36 – v. 24 • 3:12-16 • 4:8-12 • 5:29-30 (4:13) resurrection explains how unlearned men could act like this. • 10:39-41 • 13:16-41 • 17:22-31

  6. Christ and the World • 28 historians surveyed for a new history book – What is the most significant event in history: 1. Columbus’ discovery of new world. 2. Gutenberg’s press. 3. Eleven events tied for 3rd. 4. 5 way tie: US Constitution, ether for surgery, x-rays, Wright brothers flight, Jesus life and death. What place would you give Him in your life?

  7. What Would It Have Been Like? • To be with Mary at the tomb? • Peter and John inside the tomb? • The two men on the road to Emmaus? • This event changed them, and the world. • Excitement. The Questions. The Anticipation. • The resurrection is only the beginning. The Second Coming is next.
