Bainbridge, Ohio The world’s top street-luge, gravity bike, classic-luge, inline, and stand-up downhill riders converged once on the small town of Bainbridge, Ohio over the weekend of October 14-16th. Nearing the end of the IGSA World Cup series for 2005, the pro riders showed up in force, seeking the ever-important remaining World Cup points and to take their shots at the season title. Points racing aside, this three-day event brought the best of the best out to ride, race, and party. On roads closed by local government, and lined with over 1200 bales of hay, the 1.2 mile course challenged both new and experienced riders alike with a mix of long fast sweepers, hair-pins, and chicanes which sent lugers on a wild ride at 70mph and stand-up riders through at 55+!   5. Powerslide • If you are extremely crazy, powersliding is the best way to have fun and do insane tricks down a hill.

  6. Safety • Gloves are there to decrease friction as well and protect your hand. A glove is basically a durable working glove with plastic attached to the palm. These can be homemade or bought.

  7. SHOWING OFF!! • To show off: As your flying down a road you see some chick walking her dog. Figure the extreme speeds and sense of uncontrole will make her totally dig you? Well it will. Just dont hit her. • To do a slide you should start with a 180 degree coleman. To do slides you must be VERY committed. • *First get a moderate speed. • *Next bend down and get ready to grab the side of the board that is in front of you. • *You will want too lean as far back as you can without flipping over and put your other hand on the pavement (You will have gloves. I will explain later) and put most of your weight on your hand. You will be whipped around. • *As soon as you do the 180 pull your hand off and stand back up.

  8. LongboardMore than just a big skateboard. • Obviously longer than your standard skateboard, Longboards also have bigger and softer wheels than their "new school" short board brothers. Meant to cruise, longboarders enjoy a smooth ride and total control on a deck that can be more than six feet long! The original "gravity sport", downhill (speed board) and slalom longboard competitions have been thrilling spectators for years. What is more extreme than bombing a hill on a longboard at speeds over 40 mph?
