  2. Amphibians are vertebrates. They have backbones.

  3. Amphibians are cold-blooded. Amphibians do not make body heat like mammals do.

  5. When amphibians are born, thebabies have gills and can breathe under water.

  6. As amphibians get older, they change. They have lungs to breathe air.

  7. Amphibians usually live near water or where it is very wet. They lay their eggs in water.

  8. Frogs are amphibians.

  9. Toads are amphibians. Toads have warty skin and poison glands.
