PEOPLE & the ENVIRONMENT are the most precious resources for any community
We live in a period of globalization and of growing complexity. We need new and effective ways to cope to meet our present and future challenges. New competencies are required. We need to understand & respect each other, understand & respect the world in which we live.
There is ample scientific evidence that our relationship with ourselves, others and the planet we live in is the main variable influencing all the aspects of our lives. We need to see, think and act systemically.
We need to be aware that everything in our universe is interconnected. To ignore the complex relationships of the web of life has dire consequences.
We need to respect, protect and promote health & wellbeing. This include: The protection and promotion of human capital and a sustainable governance of the planet.
From a mechanistic-reductionist viewpoint health is the absence of illness From a bio-psycho-social viewpoint health is the development of human potentialities WHO reminds us that prerequisites for health are: Peace Justice Equal opportunities for all WHO Ottawa Charter, 1986.
Promote health and well being = more prosperity Protect and promote human rights = more prosperity More education of women= population self-control Promote equal opportunities = more prosperity .
Since everything is interconnected We need at the same time to act both systemically, interdisciplinarly and intersectorially in order to promote: Healthy & Resilient People Healthy Relationships Healthy Communities Healthy Workplaces Healthy Environments Healthy Economies Healthy & Sustainable Growth
To work effectively we need tools that can effectively : diagnose the problems assess the readiness for change prioritize design the solutions implement the plan evaluate the results

Mental Health and Wellbeing are too precious to be undermined by stressful workplace environments
In a recent large meta-evaluation, workplace health programs resulted in an average 25.3% decrease in sick leave absenteeism, 40.7% decrease in workers compensation costs, 24.2% decrease in disability management costs and $5.81 saving for every $1 invested in employee wellbeing. Comprehensive workplace health interventions, incorporating individual approaches and changes to workplace culture and structure, have been shown to have the most impact. Workers with better health spend more time at work, and are more productive Employees are a company’s greatest asset. Cigna Foundation,2012
Promoting processes that protect and foster the development of fully functioning citizens, workers, families, groups, workplaces and communities is of vital importance for human welfare but also for the welfare and even the survival of the work organizations and of their communities and nations
