The first few months the Sisters lived and taught school in the convent which was a former inn down near the bridge into the village of Lochinvar
1884 A cottage on the present convent site to the left of the circular drive entrance, was purchased by the Sisters . Boarders’ quarters were added at the back.
1893: First brick convent building, now occupied by the Tenison Woods Education Centre (TWEC).
1900: Primary school built by Fr McCormack [Maitland parish] on site adjacent to C of E land Lochinvar Parish was established as a separate parish from Maitland in 1905
1908: Back view of the 1893 Convent with Infirmary that was added in 1907. Chapel not yet built Infirmary
1911: New brick Primary School [now St Joseph’s Hall] built in front of 1900 wooden school
