Bubble Map Students were given fish crackers to taste (studying the letter Ff). Then they were asked to come up with adjectives that described the way the crackers tasted, smelled, and looked.
Double Bubble Map Students produced words to describe babiesand pre k students and what they have in common.
Circle Map Students created a circle map by looking through magazines and cutting objects they see are green. The frame of reference tells what group students belong to(Ex. Students whose names are circled are the grasshoppers). The frame of reference also tells the source is S&S super savers!.

Student Work Students were asked to draw differences between a baby and a prekchild. Teacherdrew a blue line to differentiate the two. The student began drawing circles around certain items. When asked by teacher why she was drawing circles, she responded “I’m drawing the circles like you did.” Students are aware of the formation of the map and that pictures belong in the circles.
