  5. What were the teacher and the student doing? What did the student do when the teacher left the room? What could he have done? How did his actions demonstrate trustworthiness? They were counting money. He sat back and waited for her to return and did not touch the money. He could have taken some of the money. When no one was watching, he was honest.

  7. How did the man demonstrate respect for the woman who came in? How did the people in the meeting show respect to the person who was speaking? He offered her his seat. They were listening to what he had to say.

  9. What was the problem? How did the girl show that she accepted responsibility? Someone had left paper all over the floor. She admitted that she had left the trash and picked it up.

  11. What was the woman doing while the man was on the computer? What did the man do when he noticed her waiting? How did his actions demonstratefairness? She was waiting. He let her use the computer. He took turns and shared the computer equally.

  13. What were the students doing? How do their actions demonstrate citizenship? They were painting the bleachers. They were doing their share to make their community (their school) better.

  15. When the girl left her friends at the table, what did she do? How do her actions demonstrate caring? She went to get the girl who was sitting by herself. She was sensitive to the needs and feelings of another person.

  16. Now you will see the videos again. See if you can choose the correct word to describe the characters. Write the correct word on your paper. The computer will show you the correct word. Now it’s your turn.

Explain how the actions of the actors demonstrated each of the following character traits: citizenship caring responsibility respect fairness trustworthiness • Imagine other examples of situations which might demonstrate each of the six character traits. Write a short story explaining the characters’ actions.
