  2. Every year, Americans consume approximately $190 billion dollars of goods.

  3. We generate nearly 230 million tons of consumer discards.

  4. We generate nearly 50 million tons of industrial and manufacturing discards.

  5. We generate nearly 15 million tons of off specification and expired products.

  6. The entire population of the US only weighs about 74 million tons.
