  2. Trading Post’s Mission:“Fulfilling student needs in order to focus on learning and empowering students to learn to become wiser consumers.” How did we evolve?

  3. Rebecca Boone Demographics 481 Total students K-5; 35 certified teachers K-81 1st-95 2nd-87 3rd-79 4th-75 5th-64

  4. Of our 481 approximately 337 (71%) qualify for Free and Reduced Lunches. What does it mean to qualify for Free and Reduced Lunches? -any child living in a home that receives food stamps, temporary assistance. -any child in foster care. -any child who is homeless, a runaway, or migrant. For reduced prices: A household of 4 individuals-if the annual income is less than $43,568 the children will qualify for reduced meals.

  5. The RBE Trading Post is designed to be a program where students can be empowered to earn the items they want and need while learning valuable life skills to succeed throughout their lives. Goals of the Trading Post: Students will have their basic needs met. Students will continually work to improve behavior and/or attendance, thus creating an improved learning environment for the classroom and improving on personal academic levels. Students will increase self-confidence, build self-esteem and boost their sense of pride. Students will learn to accept responsibility for one’s actions. Students will learn and practice basic social skills which include economics and learning to be a wise consumer.

  6. How do students earn and track Boone Bucks? Beginning the first school day, students began earning two Boone Bucks per day. One buck for attendance, and one for being discipline/office referral free. Leadership notebooks-All students K-5 at RBE keep a leadership notebook, where they monitor their attendance, and academic progress. Each student keeps monthly goals for both of these.

  14. One Year Recap At the beginning of last school year RBE had set a goal of achieving 87.5% ADA (average daily attendance) We surpassed this goal with a 92.3% ADA and even made the 90-90 “club”. Our building MAP scores improved in both English Language Arts and Mathematics. We were interviewed and featured on Channel Four News with Ray Preston. 2014-2015 donations equal $4,066. Expenses to date equal $2,124. Countless daily drop offs of donations such as clothes, food, used books and toys.

  15. Partnership with the Warren County Health Department-putting in a school garden this spring, they have donated bike helmets and provided safety information for students. October 31, 2014 received The Character Education Partnership Promising Practice Award. The school creates a caring community. The school engages families and community members as partners in the character-building effort.

  16. Comparing the 2013-14 school year to this year-RBE has decreased building referrals by 50.88% and bus discipline by 55.2%.

  17. The Trading Post puts a face to poverty and assists students with everyday needs by teaching them life skills. Whether you’re a school employee, store sponsor, parent, volunteer, or a member of the community, you are a member of the Rebecca Boone Family. This program is proud to be a part of the community it serves and is important to the lives of the students we work with.

  18. For the Greater Good If one toothbrush is good, two are better… Bathroom passes are a necessity… Shopping for loved ones during the holidays with the help of Warren County community members…

  19. Other District Initiatives: Backpack Program: Cost per child is $7.00-8.00 weekly. Currently we have 150, up from 70 in August. Care to Learn-
