“EMIL RACOVIȚĂ” THEORETICAL HIGH SCHOOL GALATI • It lies in wonderful natural surroundings, near the Botanical Gardens and within a few metres walking distance from the Danube waterfront. • The natural surroundings, the proper division of the space and the well preserved school equipment bring about good learning conditions and a safe environment for school activities inviting all pupils to behave in a civilized and dignified manner. • The school grounds are equipped so as to offer the students possibilities of spending their free time as well as of doing PE classes (handball and field tennis courts) while the inside of the school is provided with special rooms for the particular study of various subjects:

“EMIL RACOVIȚĂ” THEORETICAL HIGH SCHOOL GALATI The high school provides education for 1001 students, being structured as follows: • 4 lower secondary classes with students aged 11 – 15; • 25 upper secondary classes with students aged 15 -19, specializing in Natural Sciences and Philology; • 9 post high school classes specializing nurses in general medicine, pharmacy and physiotherapy.
Middle school • Since 2010, we also cater for students aged 10-14 . • The pupils have to pass an exam in July, thus they are selected in order to attend our courses. • Many students have talents in different fields (playing instruments, different sports, singing, painting, acting). As a consequence they are involved in many extra-curricular activities.
Staff There are • 52 teachers in this high school • 11 external collaborators • 15 employees who are auxiliary staff.
Projects • Over the last few years we have developed many projects at a local, county, national and European levels. A part of the teachers have participated in European projects such as: Comenius, Grundtvig, Study visits – Arion as part of LLL, and Erasmus+ (KA1, KA2).
Our Erasmus+ Projects • As part of the Erasmus+ Programme, the Project “Formative and inclusive education through innovative didactical strategies and instruments” ( 2015-2017) we created a bridge between European schools so that we may improve our pedagogical activity. • The project comprised 12 mobilities organized in 5 flows.
KA2 projects (for school only) • Inclusion scolaire et lutte contre le decrochage (2016-2018) in partnership with France (coord.), Italy and Poland • Active Pupils Become Active Citizens (2017-2019) in partnership with Finland (coord.), Denmark and Portugal • Efficient Usage of Natural Resources (2017-2019) in partnership with Italy, Spain and Turkey
