This preaching series focuses on the theme of calling and the importance of living up to our individual callings in order to strengthen our community. Through biblical teachings and discussions, we explore the concept of communion with God and how it relates to our different roles and responsibilities in life. The goal is to encourage individuals to examine their specific callings and strive towards building a united, strong community.

Calling • What’s your 1st thought when I mention the word “calling”?

Primary, First, Highest “Calling” Communion with God • Matthew 4:19 “Come, follow me” Jesus said… • 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light” • 1 Peter 5:10 “After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you” • John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God”

The more important question about “Calling” Are we living up to the calling? Ephesian 4:1-2 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” FPBC focus for 2015: First, love
