Aim #4 • Allow the children to make their owndecisions and give them a variety of activities they can choose from. • Have a culture corner in the classroom, with different aspects of other cultures of the children in the class. • Ensure that there are motives for the activities that the children use. • Help the children to do things themselves without interrupting them. • The staff should encourage the children's learning and give them a sense of belief that they can accomplish any task.
Links to Montessori Aim #4 • ‘Help me to do it by myself’. • All activities should be of a learning benefit and be made of natural materials. • All age groups should be together in a classroom. • All tables, chairs and shelves with activities on them, should be of the child's own height. • Children are given the choice when they wish to sleep and eat. The children are never forced.
