Aims of the MSc AIS/MRes • To complete the School’s portfolio of courses between BSc and conversion MSc, and MPhil/PhD: • Graduates of our joint-honours BSc and conversion MSc are not usually mature enough for direct entry into our MPhil/PhD programme • but often wish to continue with further more advanced study • To complement and strengthen the School’s research activities: • Specialist taught courses to support our research, and develop it into new directions, possibly in collaboration with Industry via student projects • To enhance our recruitment of well-qualified research students • To produce graduates with specialist knowledge which they can apply to practical IT problems in the workplace.
