OSPF Extensions for ASON Routingdraft-dimitri-ccamp-gmpls-ason-routing-ospf-00.txt IETF66 - Montreal - Jul’06 Dimitri Papadimitriou (Alcatel) <dpapadimitriou@psg.com>
Since Last IETF 65 meeting • Split draft-dimitri-ccamp-gmpls-ason-routing-sol-01.txt into OSPF and IS-IS dedicated documents • Facilitate review and progress • Submitted only OSPF version (IS-IS right after meeting) • Revision (see next slide)
Additions Reachability Link Attributes Scoping Hierarchy OSPFv2 Extend top level Node Attribute sub-TLVs to support address IPv4/IPv6 prefixes (two new sub-TLVs) Discriminate between termination and switching capability: additional ISCD sub-TLV TE link advertisements association to their resp. local-remote TE Router_ID relationship(s) new sub-TLV of top level link TLV (local/remote TE Router_ID) Prefixes part of the reachability advertisements association to their respective local TE Router_ID new sub-TLV of top level Node attribute TLV (local TE Router_ID) LSA import/export rules/conditions (TE LSA, Type 1) Per area, selection of upward info dissemination (U bit in TE router cap. TLV) RC with highest router ID (selection) downward info dissemination (D bit in TE router cap. TLV) RC with highest router ID (selection) + Associated Area ID Loop prevention mechanism: Associated Area ID sub-TLV Extensions - OSPFv2
Next revision 1) Add link_id processing (same as RFC 3630) 2) Describe relationship of OSPF areas to ASON RAs (to be included in next revision) in add. to eval-doc. 3) Add RC reachability precondition for considering a RC as capable to pass information between levels
Next Steps • Become Working group document ? • (still) ask feedback from other parties involved in the process • Routing protocol WG for protocol feedback • Ext. SDOs for functional feedback
