This presentation discusses ozone observations on Eastern Island, focusing on climatological aspects, zonal winds, atmospheric processes, and conclusions from studies conducted in 2003. It highlights the influence of extratropical cyclones, the Subtropical Jet Stream, and the important role of the Marine Boundary Layer in tropospheric ozone levels.

Conclusions • Maximun Ozone Tropospheric is observed during Spring in low troposphere and high troposphere on Eastern Island. • Extratropical cyclones, troughs and Subtropical Jet Stream Intense (>25m/s) favor significant Stratosphere-troposphere exchange (STE). • Marine Boundary Layer (MBL) seems to play a role important in tropospheric ozone maximum.
