Identification A Loggerhead turtle is 2.5 to 3.5 feet long and weighs 350 pounds. It is light brown or dark brown with two claws on each flipper. It has a triangular head.
FoodLoggerhead turtles eatshellfish, horseshoe crabs, clams and mussels.
Threats With more housing development, humans cause disturbance with too much lighting. Also, long line fishing and pollution threaten loggerheads.
Reproduction Females lay 100-126 eggs in a nest that take 60 days to hatch.
