Expectations / Responsibilities Students are expected to be present for school and ready to perform daily. Best work is expected at all times. Students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the established Classroom Rules.
My Pledge to Parents and Students • With great pride and satisfaction, I accept my calling as a teacher. I pledge my dedication to the profession. • With humility, I ask you, my students, to accept me as your teacher. • With respect, I ask you, the parents, to support me and I will do the same for you. • I pledge to make full use of my skills and talents in order to offer the best instruction of which I am capable. I promise never to stop learning, for a teacher should always remain a learner, too. When I make a mistake, I promise to correct it and learn from it. I will never ask more of others than I ask of myself. • I will exercise patience and tolerance in my classroom and I will create a safe, warm, and productive environment for all my learners. • I promise to respond to your questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Classroom Rules / Behavior Management Plan 1. The classroom is for learning, therefore we will not play in the classroom; this means we will not push, shove, hit, or kick fellow classmates. 2. We will treat others the way we want to be treated. We will respect others while they are speaking by not interrupting them. 3. We will take care of classroom supplies, as well as our own. We will not take other students supplies without permission. 4. We will do our best work, and conduct ourselves in a respectful manner at all times. We will work quietly and productively, always doing our best. If we do not understand assignments, we will ask questions. 5. We will be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and SAFE at ALL TIMES

Daily Schedule • 7:45-8:00 Morning Procedures / Character Ed. • 8:00-9:30 Math / Math Intervention • 9:30-10:15 Language Art / Writing • 10:15-10:30 Science/Social Studies • 10:30-10:55 Lunch • 10:55-11:15 Recess • 11:15-1:00 Reading • 1:00-1:15 Reading Intervention / Social Studies • 1:15-1:30 Science/Social Studies • 1:35-2:05 P.E. • 2:10-2:40 Specials • 2:40-2:45 Dismissal • Specials: Tue-Art; Wed-Guidance; Thu-Computer; Fri-Music • No Special on Monday
Math Curriculum(Investigations) • Addition, Subtraction, and the Number System • Multiplication and Division • Fractions and Decimals • Perimeters, Angles, and Area • Stories, Tables, and Graphs
Reading(Harcourt) • In addition to improving their reading skills and fluency, the students will learn various strategies to improve their comprehension. • Students will build a robust vocabulary • Technology to reinforce skills that are presented in the classroom (Splash into Phonics / Comprehension Expedition)
Language Art/Writing Process(Write Source / Harcourt) • The students will be exposed to the writing process and various types of writing such as Narrative, Descriptive, and Expository. • The students are only required to master Narrative writing by the end of their 3rd grade year.
Science(Scott Foresman) • Energy from the sun • Life cycle of Plants • Classifying animal • Biomes • Sustaining natural resources • Weather phenomena • Earth layers / position • Force and motion • Simple / Compound Machines • Physical / chemical changes
Social Studies(Scott Foresman) • Map skills • Landforms • Ecosystems • Trading patterns of the U.S. • Historical sites in Alabama • Population shifts in the Western Hemisphere • Preparation for natural disasters
