MBBS 5 Yr 1 • PROGRESSION: • All green boxes - to be eligible to progress to the Transition Year a student must pass each domain independently (for the doctor as a scholar and scientist domain students must pass both elements separately) • RESIT OR REPEAT: • One or more orange boxes - if a student is awarded a grade of cause for concern they may elect to repeat the year as second attempt or they may opt to enter the resit examination(s)/assessment(s) • REPEAT YEAR: • One or more red boxes - if a student is awarded a grade of unacceptable they are required to repeat the year, they are not permitted to enter the resit examination(s)/assessment (s) • DISCRETIONARY PANEL: • Students who elect to enter the resit examination(s)/assessment(s) and do not achieve an acceptable grade(s) will be required to apply to the discretionary panel for a third and final attempt (if approved this will entail a repeat year). Students are only permitted to apply to the discretionary panel ONCE during their programme.

To be eligible to progress to the Student Selected Elective a student must pass each domain independently (for the doctor as a scholar and scientist domain students must pass both elements separately) • GRADUATE: • To be eligible for the award of the MBBS degree, students must pass each domain (independently) as well as the elective assessments (report and quality of participation) • RESIT OR REPEAT: • One or more red boxes - if a student is awarded a grade of unacceptable they may elect to enter the resit examination(s)/assessment(s) or they may elect to complete the year formatively and repeat the F year in its entirety at second attempt the following academic session • DISCRETIONARY PANEL: • Students who elect to enter the resit examination(s)/assessment(s) and do not achieve an acceptable grade(s) will be required to apply to the discretionary panel for a third and final attempt (if approved this will entail a repeat year). Students are only permitted to apply to the discretionary panel ONCE during their programme.
