Technology education in Jyväskylä Normaalikoulu, Grades 1-6 The objective is to implement technology education through several school subjects. All school subjects provide possibilities for technology education: Physical education, music, visual arts, crafts, biology, geography, physics, chemistry, mathematics, history and mother tongue (Finnish) Technological aspects are brought up and emphasised in each school subject.

In all learning, the goal is to use the skills needed for practical developing of technology; creative problem solving, innovative thinking, planning and also the skills needed for making the product. Product manufacturing Planning,manufacturing, evaluation and developing are parts of the product manufacturing process. At the same time the industrial planning- and manufacturing process of a product is modelled.
Crafts projects In product planning and manufacturing pupils use versatile materials, technology and techniques and find out about the properties of different materials.
