A Helping Hand Foundation was co-founded by D’Mitri Payne, Michela Gaines, Ta’Vasha Lovette, Kemari Simmons, Sylvia Brown, and Shakeem Pasco with the advancement of the youth in mind. When we first came up with this idea we realized that there was so much crime going on in our community and our youth were struggling in school. So we wanted to give teens from middle to high school a place where they can come and be a teenager, while also being taught the necessary tools to succeed as a mature and educated man or woman.
