24GAME How to Play + Practice Session for the WEGE Tournament By Mr. Comm, GOAL
How to Play • Object of the game: Make the number 24 from the four numbers on a game card. • You can add, subtract, multiply and divide. Use all four numbers on the card, but use each number only once. You do not have to use all four operations. All number nines will have a red center, so you can tell a nine from a six.
How to Play • Example: One solution to the card shown above is: • 4 x 3 = 12, 12 x 2 = 24, 24 ÷ 1 = 24
How to Play • This is an easy card, called a “1 Dot,” because it has one white dot in the corner. Cards of medium difficulty have two red dots in the corner, and tough cards have three yellow dots.
For tournament play, you must announce the pattern (last step of your solution to make 24; ie. “8 times 3”) within 3 seconds of touching the card. The final solution (all three steps) must be completed within 15 seconds. You cannot change the pattern that you first stated. How to Play • Try this 2 Dot card. 4 X 4 = 16 16 – 2 = 8 8 X 3 = 24 X . X X . X
Look for Patterns • If you see an 18 on the card, try to make a 6 from the other numbers. • If you see a 21 on the card try to make a 3 from the other numbers.

How to Play • When you make a false claim by touching the card, but can’t quickly give the solution, you lose your right to win that card. The card is returned to the deck to be played later. • When players can’t find a solution: Every card has at least one solution…some have more. If a card stumps all players, that card can be put aside.
Activities • Try solo play for fun and practice. • Play against a partner. • Try 3 or more players.
