  2. Introduction • What has six legs and comes out at night? A katydid! Did you know how they got their name because people think they are saying ‘’katydid’’ ‘’ katydid’’.

  3. What does the katydid look like? • Their antennas are about as long their body. They have antennas on their heads. The body is as long as your first finger. Its antennas are as big as your first finger.

  4. What is the katydids habitat? • Katydids live on leaves. Katydids also live on flowers. They live in bushes. They also live on dirt.

  5. What does the katydid eat and how does it hunt? • When the katydid is hunting it hides in the bushes and when it sees its prey it pops out and eats it. The katydid can also eat spiders. The katydid eats leaves. They also eat dead insects.

  6. All About Katydid Babies • Baby katydids are called nymphs. Baby katydids look like adults but they aren’t because they don’t have wings. They shed their skin. At their last day of molting they get their wings.
