MY NAME IS MACK HARRIS YOUR MASTER OF CEREMONIES
JOINT REUNION Class of 1964, 1965, 1966 & 1967 Saturday, November 6, 2004
INVOCATION Heavenly Father, Several times over this weekend, we have been reminded that together as children and then late as adults at the Virginia School for the Deaf we began establishing the foundations for our lives. These foundations have been enhanced and strengthened over the last 40 years. Lord, we are living the plans that you have given us through your continuous blessings and through the challenges and obstacles you have put in front of us. And so tonight Lord, we ask that you bless this meal and continue to bless our celebration weekend. We pray for those classmates not able to be with us this evening. May their spirits and contributions to the Class of ’64, ’65, ’66 & ’67 family always be remembered. We ask all this in your name. Amen

WE TOOK IT FOR GRANTED. We took the hilly VSDB campus for granted. All those years, we were busy with many activities. The old campus still is as beautiful as any city park. The overseeing Mother building with blazing white columns stands with fortitude. So do the big and tall oak trees with tranquil solitude. We remember the two famous entrance posts with acorn atop But we did not take a chance to stop by and take a good look. We remember the campus always being neat. We remember annual beautiful Fall foliage. We remember having fun with fallen leaves. We remember crushing acorns anywhere. We remember many roaming squirrels. We remember good snowing. We remember many flying-by birds of different kinds. From time to time, we remember to come and check on a school of orange fish at the two ponds. We remember breathing the brisk air. With that so-natural environment, we remember the campus life is with a full joy and fun.
