RD83479901 East St. Louis SCAPE DeploymentPreliminary data August 2013 Laura King Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Georgia Institute of Technology August 19, 2013
Instruments Deployed • Semicontinuous organic and elemental carbon (OC/EC) (Sunset Labs) • NO2 (direct absorption, 450 nm, Aerodyne) • Ozone (photometric, Thermo Electron) • ACSM (aerosol speciation, PM1, Aerodyne) (only truly operational since August 15) • Offline instruments: • UCI cans (speciated VOCs) • Filters (ions, OC, EC, oxidative potential, etc)

Preliminary results_time series(1) • WSOC & Brown Carbon: LWCC was down
Preliminary results_time series(2) • PM2.5 & BC: Fixing MAAP
Preliminary results-diurnal profiles Fine particle mass concentration drops in the afternoon significantly. WSOC diurnal profile is flat, because most of WSOC comes from secondary formation. BC indicates primary emission. Rush hour peaks are observed. Error bar-Standard error
