2. Agenda • Today you will compare Roy DeCarava’s “Untitled” with Tina Barney’s “Marina’s Room.” • You will focus your comparison on the relationship between character and setting, and then explain how the artists combined these images to suggest a narrative.

3. Review • With your partner, discuss three ways an author conveys character. Recall what you wrote on turnitin.com about the ways an author creates characterization. • Be prepared to share with the class. • You will need to be familiar with these concepts to complete today’s activity. If you don’t already have them, write them down.
