Current Process: • RCT Team EBM (in either EBM or Reviewer role) • Receives clinical trial registration # • Responsible for checking description of trial in the clinical trial registry • We are not sharing the registry number with the other reviewers.
2012 thus far • 47 RCTs submitted • 36% - immediately rejected • enrollment prior to registration • lack of registration • fatal flaws in methods • 26% - reject after first round of review • Of those RCTs with a final decision as of this date: 85% rejected
