  3. Arctic Wolf I gave the Arctic Wolf Ice Center 5 stars. This internship site helped me to increase my knowledge of how to run a sports facility. Another aspect that I enjoyed was my ability to try a little bit of everything. I worked in marketing and sales, facility operations and maintenance, customer relations, and some bookkeeping. My manager also treated me like a true employee and not just as an intern. I was able to put my name out there as a representative of the Ice Center.

Internship Objectives • To gain an overall understanding and insight to how a for-profit sports facility functions on a day-today basis • To complete all marketing tasks assigned to me in a timely manner and act as liaison to the marketing firm used by Arctic Wolf Ice Center • Develop an organized structure for the sponsorship contracts and files as well as develop a solid base for future marketing directors/interns to use. • Help foster new relationships within the Bryan/College Station community and maintain and nurture current ones. • Support the other departments within the ice center and help complete short-term projects throughout the duration of the internship.

  6. Daily Tasks • Facility walk through • Donation requests • Responding to e-mails • Returning phone calls • Coordinating Frostbite events • Working with sponsorship renewals • Reconciling the ice schedule • Working with the marketing consultant

  7. Project Summary • The project I chose to work on for the Arctic Wolf Ice Center involved their sponsors and sponsorship contracts. My project involved reorganizing the filing system, creating a single database on the server to access information, and developing a professional brochure to present to potential clients. I also put together a turnover binder with information and procedures for renewing current contracts and brining on new sponsors.
