First Year/ Fall • Make sure you’re taking and scheduled requirements for medical school • Make a personal medical school application timeline • Focus on getting excellent grades and making contact with professors in science classes • Visit with Pre-med advisor
First year/ Spring • Visit with the pre-med advisor to make sure you’re still on track • Focus on academic record • Possibly find out about research opportunities, summer opportunities • Find clinical experience in the local community
First year / Summer • Begin clinical experience • Study general chemistry/biology/physics for MCAT’S
Second year / Fall • Meet with pre-med advisor • Keep taking and excelling in medical school requirements • Choose good electives to make you’re a well-rounded student ie: sociology, psychology, art, foreign language • Get involved on campus • Research summer internships and apply where necessary (at least 4) • Volunteer in community • Clinical experience
