Authentic assessment actually measures and rewards learning. We need our students to think. Not to be just good scribes or clones of us!. Make a question authentic. If we want to encourage learning we need to build assessment around individual students not whole classes.

  19. The more that the teacher is the one source of information, the less need there is for a library, the Internet or any other source. And the less likely that the learner will make personal meaning from that information. Variety provides the potential for diversity and motivation. Authentic Assessment
