MeasuringGod’s Lovefor Us • Substantiality: He Refuses to Give the Minimum • “He who did not even…” (cf. 1 Pet. 1:18-19) • Supremacy: He Gives the Absolute Best He Can Give • “Did not spare His own Son” (cf. Gen. 22:16; Jn. 15:13) • Sacrifice: He Sacrifices for the Sake of Others • “Delivered Him up for us all” (cf. 8:31; 3:24-26; Isa. 53) • Surplus: He Keeps on Giving More and More • “How shall He not with Him also…” (cf. Luke 6:38) • Satisfaction: He Gives Freely and Un-begrudgingly • “Freely gives us all things” (cf. 8:28; Mt. 6:33; 2 Pt. 1:3)

MeasuringGod’s Lovefor Us • Nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (8:38-39). • Only those in Christ experience God’s inseparable love • Must believe on Jesus to be in Christ (Acts 18:8) • Must repent of sinful living to be in Christ (Acts 2:38) • Must confess one’s faith to be in Christ (Romans 10:9-10) • Must be baptized to be in Christ (Galatians 3:27) • Only through baptism does one enter “into Christ” (Romans 6:3) • Sins are washed away (Acts 22:16) • The Lord adds to His church (Acts 2:47) • Name is written in heaven (Hebrews 12:23) • Must serve Him faithfully to remain in Christ (1 Cor. 15:58) us in

MeasuringOur Lovefor God • Substantiality: Do you refuse to give God the minimum? • Consider David (1 Chron. 21:22-26) • Supremacy: Do you give Him the absolute best you can? • Consider the poor widow (Mark 12:43-44) • Sacrifice: Do you sacrifice for the sake of others? • Consider the Macedonian brethren (2 Cor. 8:1-7) • Surplus: Do you keep on giving more and more? • Consider the Israelites at Sinai (Exodus 36:3-7) • Satisfaction: Do you give freely and un-begrudgingly? • Consider the instructions to Christians (2 Cor. 9:6-7)
