  4. Usage(1 being NEVER and 5 being OFTEN) • NO USAGE • ABA 2003 Survey 54.0% . cf. Louisville 91.7% . cf. NSU 56.3%

  5. Why Not? . None in coverage area-ABA Survey 20.2% . Not familiar with the lessons-ABA Survey 20.2% . Checking out the lessons is too much trouble for me 16.5% . ABA Survey = 11.8% . I don’t agree with the content of the lessons 8.9% . ABA Survey = 11.8%

  6. Why Not? (Cont’d) . I could not monitor the students’ progress 8.9% . I found the students were not helped by the lessons 6.3% . ABA Survey = 10.6% . Students are too busy-ABA Survey 5.3%

  7. Degree of Use As to those who use CALI lessons: 1 being NEVER and 5 being OFTEN . Suggest students use them as secondary sources . CALI Survey 2 out of 5 . cf. Louisville 1.3 out of 5 . cf. NSU 1.5 out of 5

Mention them to students (ABA Survey) 15.0% • Assign lessons in any of your courses • (1 to 5- CALI Survey) 2.1 out of 5 • . Assign them as homework 24.1% cf. ABA 2003 Survey 10.5% • . Require students to complete them as a • course requirement 17.7%

  10. WHY DON’T PROFESSORS USE CALI LESSONS? • Run a survey • Tabulate results • Talk about possible solutions

  11. FACULTY Too much trouble to read through Technology too difficult Don’t want to dictate materials to students Some are just wrong STUDENTS Technology is too distracting Students should find own secondary aids Interactive material is distracting SOME OF THE PROBLEMS
