What is a Forensic Psychologist? • A Forensic Psychologist is an expert in assessing the mental state of criminals. • This includes determining the mental competency to stand trial or take criminal responsibility. • They also provide individuals with therapeutic treatment.
What do they do? • Forensic Psychologists handle many different types of jobs, many of which involve circumstances normal psychologists handle. • These jobs include: • Custody disputes • Insurance claims • Lawsuits • Family courts • Psychotherapy services • Child abuse • Hospital work • Rehabilitation centers
