PRESENTING • Roxanne Trees • Presents her curriculum at the National AAFCS meeting in 1996. • Others draw ideas and inspiration from the creativity of the simulated activities in this curriculum.
PROMOTING • Shooting for the moon, she hit a star: • The Seattle Times, with approximately 230,000 circulation, means lots of people know about the S.S. Ingraham and its creator/author, Roxanne Trees.
ORGANIZING… • Part of the urban affiliation of FCCLA in the Seattle Schools, the S.S. Ingraham students participated in student leadership; and attended local, state and national conferences.

RESULTS • Model developed at Ingraham became District’s model • Voted most popular of the 12 departments • GPAs rose • Forerunner of Academy of Travel and Tourism, where FCS teachers provide instruction in Strategies for Success and World Cuisine • FCS teachers now teach the required 9th grade health class for the entire school.
