  5. Title I Title I Part A School Wide Campus Eligibility Criteria: 40% of the children residing or enrolled in the school must be from low-income families. Qualify for free lunch/breakfast.

  6. Title I • Purpose of Title I Part A Provides supplemental resources to school districts with high concentrations of students from low-income families. Provides high-quality education to students who experience difficulty mastering the state achievement standards (TEKS and TAKS)

  8. Title 1 Part A School WideCampus Funds can be used for upgrading the entire education program of a school in order to raise academic achievement for all students.

Chapter 39 and who has not in the previous or current school year subsequently performed on that instrument or another appropriate instrument at a level equal to at least 110% of the level of satisfactory performance on that instrument.

Child Abuse • Types - Physical – nonaccidental injury to a child - Emotional – injury to the psychological capacity or emotional stability as evidenced by an observable change in behavior, emotional response; anxiety, depression, withdrawal, or aggressive behavior. - Sexual – contacts or interactions between a child and an adult when the child is being used for sexual stimulation and the adult is in a position of power or control over the victim.

  35. Self-Mutilation • Reasons for SM Behavior: individuals who self-injure often have suffered sexual, emotional, or physical abuse from someone whom a significant relationship has been established such as a parent or sibling.

  36. Self-Mutilation • The behavior of self-injury has been described as an attempt to escape from intolerable or painful feelings relating to the trauma of abuse. • Consequently, cutting or disfiguring the skin serves as a coping mechanism from the immediate tension they are experiencing.

  49. Suicide • Symptoms: • Loss of interest in school and regular activities • Withdrawal from friends and family • Feelings of hopelessness, worthless, angry, or irritable • Feeling trapped like there’s no way out • Talking about death or making threats of suicide
