  2. Tuvia Bielski ( 1906 - 1987 ) -Leader of Partisans - Born in Stankiewicze - Corporal of the 30th Infantry Battalion (Polish Army) -2 Wives -> 3 Children - He went to America, and later   died there

  3. Aseal Bielski ( 1908 - 1945) - Father ill, Tuvia gone, becomes man of the house - Due to war ,can marry Chaja - Killed in the battle of Königsberg

  4. Alexander Zeisal (Zus) Bielski ( 1912 - 1995 ) - Born 1912 - Grew up in Stankiewicze - 1 of 12 -Forms Bielski partisans with his brothers After War -moved to Israel-left to New York 1956-taxi fleet- trucking company with Brother Tuvia - Died of cardiac arrest in Brooklyn (82)

  5. Aron Bielski ( 1927 - Still living ) - Youngest of the 4 brothers - Had a minimal, almost nonexistent participation and impact on the life of the Bielski Partisans - Returned to communist-dominated Poland then Palestine and finally to the U.S. - Changed his surname afterwards

  6. The Bielski Partisans Were an organization of Jewish Partisans who rescued Jews from extermination and fought against the Nazi German occupies. Under their protection 1,236 Jews survived the war, making it one of many remarkable rescue missions in the holocaust.

ISRAEL GERMANY POLAND - They helped Jews and therefore are regarded as heroes - Pretty unknown until release of film  " Defiance " - The killing of (selfish) farmers - Unpopular - Many young people regard them as heroes - Some Media portrays them badly - Heroes who saved the lives

  9. How learning about the Bielski Partisans has had an effect on our identity... "To save a Jew is much more important than to kill Germans" - There is good and evil on this planet What are you going to be part of ? - These are the people we need to think about, if we were to come into a similar situation -They were selfless and we can be the same ! - Influence on our daily lives
