  1. Rules Of Indoor Cricket – Torq03 Indoor cricket – you may have heard of it, but what exactly it is, may be a question arising in your mind. As the name itself suggests, indoor cricket is nothing but cricket played indoors. It is a variant of cricket that shares many basic concepts with the original game, but with added enhancements, to improve the engagement and enjoyment of casual players. Based on the abilities and availability of players for the match, there are lots of variants existing within the indoor cricket game. All of us know the basic rules of the traditional cricket game. Now, let us take a look at the rules of indoor cricket. Just like basic cricket, indoor cricket also involves two batsmen, a bowler, and a team of fielders. The bowler bowls the ball to the batsmen, who must make scores by running across the pitch, or hitting a four or six. The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins the game. Other than this, indoor cricket differs significantly from the traditional game in several ways, some of the most significant ones being mentioned below. The general rules •There are 6 to 8 players in each team in indoor cricket, contrasting the team of 11 players in traditional cricket. In

  2. case of mixed-gender matches, the fielding team should have 6 male and 2 female players at a given time on the ground. •A single game of cricket can have as low as 3 overs, and a maximum of 12 overs. Thus, each bowler can bowl only 1 to 3 overs per match. Batting rules The basic rules of batting remain the same as in the case of traditional cricket. Other than that, •the batting team can score 8 runs by hitting the 8-run board on the field. •the ball struck directly to hit the roof becomes dead immediately, thus brining no runs. Bowling rules •Usual No ball, Wide ball, and Overthrow are applicable. •The ball is a no-ball is it is pitched beyond the no-ball line. •Sidearm bowling isn’t allowed; and underarm bowling becomes compulsory when there are female players in the game. Dismissal rules •It is an out if the stumps are bowled by the bowler. •It is an out if the ball is caught in the air by the fielding team. •It is an out if the on-strike batsman is stumped out by the wicket-keeper. •Either batsman can be run out by the fielding team. •No-ball stumping is not considered. •Stumping is not valid if the keeper collects the ball before it passes the stumps for stumping. •If the ball goes directly over the provided line of the box, it will be considered out if it doesn’t bounce inside the box, even if it is a No-ball.

  3. •If the match is tied, the winner of the match will be decided by a coin toss or Super Over. While the above rules are the most basic rules of the game of indoor cricket, there could be flexibilities depending upon the mutual wishes of both the teams. However, an indoor cricket game is a very beneficial one, where all sorts of players can play together. Any beginner, intermediate, and expert can play the game. Every age group can play the game.
