  7. Using STARR to frame your examples Situation: ‘When I was working at Asda, I was responsible for the weekend staff rota’ Task: ‘one weekend, 3 members of staff called in sick, and I realised that we did not have enough staff to cover till points at the busy times’ Action: ‘I asked a couple of people if they wanted to work extra hours, and phoned some other part timers. At the same time, I closed two till points as it was relatively quiet’ Result: ‘Although we had a couple of tense moments when queues started to build up, we were able to maintain our acceptable queue levels’ Reflection ‘in retrospect I would have had more staff on standby , and would have anticipated staff shortages, as its was a member of staff’s 21st birthday the night before’.
