WHAT IT IS • Freshwater biomes have low salt concentration. The plant and animal life have adjusted to the low salt content and would not be able to survive in areas of high salt concentration.
types There are several types of freshwater biomes, such as: ponds and lakes; rivers and streams; and some wetlands.
WHAT IS IT HOME TO? • Freshwater biomes are home to many different types of plant and animal species. Like: water lilies, frogs, fish, moss, and some freshwater grasses.
WHERE ARE THEY FOUND? Fresh water biomes are found scattered through out the earth. Some ponds and lakes are remnants of glaciers.
TEMPERATURES • The temperatures of wetlands varies. In rivers and streams the temperature is cooler, in ponds and lakes the temperature varies from seasonal, and it also varies from the depth of the water.
