What are we trying to get out of a shallow cross • We want to throw the shallow! • We will try to isolate a linebacker that we think struggles in space and try to get him in a hi-lo situation. • The shallow is going to be thrown to a dynamic athlete. • The dig is going to be thrown to a bigger body target. Split End or TE. • Important after the catch. Get Vertical. Undercoached.

  3. Getting Vertical After the Catch • At first opportunity put your foot in the ground and up field. • You should never be tackled from the side. • Understand that defenders that are taught properly pursue from all angles.
