  2. Description: • Localized dead areas that can spread all over tree • Wounds due to Fungi and bacteria • Caused by Mechanical and environmental damages

  3. Life Cycle: • Can start in Trees as young as two years • 14- 60 days for symptoms to occur • Can be treated with the cutting off of infected limbs

  4. Organisms it effects: • Deciduous Trees • Weak, young and vulnerable • Fruit trees

  5. Key Features: • Rough or cracked Bark • “Wounds” splitting crevices in bark • Dead leaves or needles • Small fungal spore forming structures either in the centers or around the edges of tree

  6. Causes: • Mechanical or Environmental Damage • Weak trees due to flooding, malnourishment, etc. • Open wounds susceptible to bacteria entering
