Theme • The central or universal idea or lesson about life that a story conveys. • Example: Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “Anabel Lee” had a lesson about eternal love.
Stanza • A division of a poem created by arranging the lines into a unit(a “paragraph” within the poem). • The stanzas within a poem are separated by blank lines.
