The Use of the Roerich Psychodynamic Inventory (RPI) in the Law Enforcement Setting - A Preliminary Convergent Validity Analysis - Ştefan Liţă, Psychologist Ministry of the Interior PsychosociologicalCenter Bucharest, Romania The screening version of Roerich’s 5-component model of mental health assessment was investigated with data from two police organizations in Romania (72 police officers and 221 police applicants). Data was collected by self-reported inventories and analysed using correlations (Pearson’s) and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The data showed a significant relationship between level of emotional problems assessed by Roerich’s method and level of emotional problems assessed by other classical inventories: 16PF Questionnaire, Guilford-Zimmerman Temperament Survey, Cattell Anxiety Questionnaire, and the Cornell Medical Index. Our research indicates that the screening version of the Roadmind Psychodynamic Inventory had acceptable convergent validity. Psychometric and conceptual problems were discussed and suggestions for future research were advanced.
