Bay County Prevention Network at the Neighborhood Resource Center Bay County Prevention Network MISSION: To maximize community resources by providing support, direction and coordination of behavioral health (substance abuse and mental health) prevention services to address the needs of our community, families and individuals and particularly youth; to improve their overall quality of life and promote a safe and nurturing environment.

Bay County Prevention Network (cont) Subcommittees • CAAPT (Communities Addressing Alcohol Problems Together) – youth group • Data Committee – Evaluates local data annually for strategic planning • PAM Committee – Meets annually to plan Parenting Awareness Month activities for March • Media Committee– Plans community awareness activities through the media • Speaking Committee - Educates the community about the BCPN

  4. Bay County Prevention Network Accomplishments 2010/2011 • Developed BCPN plan for 2010/2011 • Implementing process objectives • City Police completed city wide compliance check • Developed Prescription Drug subcommittee • Collaborated with National Take Back Initiative in September and April

Community Awareness • Distributed 16,966 community awareness materials • Mailed congratulatory letter and tips for a safe party to every parent of a graduating high school senior • Developed and distributed 6500 placemats, with drunk driving statistics , to local restaurants
