LOG-IN to ALO web every 10 days Main Jobs: Recruiting / Mentoring Managing your Career To get promoted need to get at least 100 pts Allowed 130 pts a year 6 hrs = 2 pts 8 hrs = 2 pts LOD approval of pts by 10th of every month Get to know UTAPS and AROWS 85% of your questions are on the ALOWEB !! Include your boss…especially reach out to Academy ALO Responsibilities

HELPFUL HINTS for 4060s • No Laundry-List • Use all 50 lines • FULLY JUSTIFY your scores… • Verbiage has to match the numerical scores • Review your 1-2-3 scores • List of “good questions” • Last number is not an average • ALO scores might not get them in…but it can keep them out • Need at least 3 contacts (phone contact – OK) • Quotes are excellent… • DONT embarrass the ALO force

CONGRESSIONAL TRAINING • Get to know your Rep and/or Congressional Liaison • Oct - Nov for personal interviews • AF nominations are the tightest • Tons of “freshman” that are still learning the process… • Recommend that the candidates apply to all sources • My recommendation: DON’T interview kids that have not started the application process…coordinate with LOD on kids with nothing done in their package

Tips and Guidance – AFA Counselors • Extensive Review of HS Transcripts • USAFA “stance” on drugs • Tolerate experimental also dependent on answer: motivation / lesson learned / remorse level • Schedule C drugs • Compelling story – up to 100 pts • Ability to speak other than English • 10 pts for “excellent” • 5 pts for “good” • No quotas on ALO scores • More on Virtual Tours

FINAL THOUGHTS • Phenomenal Training • See the “Nuts n Bolts” of the Selections Mechanism • Visit the Prep School • Visit AOG bldg…now track daily acitivity on the web • Mandated slots for USAFA (based on current attrition) • 1120 for Class of 2015 • 1050 for Class of 2016 • 1165 for Class of 2017 and on • Indoor Training Facility - New • At the end-of-the-day, our jobs as ALOs are to be fair to the candidate and loyal to the Air Force
